We all have to start somewhere and I mentioned in my review of The Body Coach 90 Day Plan that you absolutely should NOT guess your starting weight.
The 90 Day Plan recipes are tailored to your specific caloric requirements and guessing your weight could impact your overall results.
A set of bathroom scales will give you a clear indication of your starting point. There is no shame in whatever numbers show up. You are taking positive steps to make a change in your life, but to do so you need to know your current weight.
You may be able to weigh yourself at many gyms, GP surgeries or pharmacies. However, there are benefits to having your own set of bodyweight scales.
Digital Bathroom Scales are an essential piece of equipment for The Body Coach 90 Day Plan and can provide more information about your body than just measuring your weight.

You’ll notice that most of the recipes included in The 90 Day Plan are quick and easy to prepare. Also, a lot of recipes can also be cooked in bulk and frozen for up to one month.
Stocking up on food storage containers and microwaveable storage boxes will be a lifesaver on your weekly prep days. They are essential pieces of equipment for The Body Coach 90 Day Plan and I couldn’t have completed the plan without them.

Having read through The 90 Day Plan you will have noticed that you should be drinking a certain amount of water per day. At first, this can seem impossible, and you might be wondering how on earth will you be able to drink so much water? Don’t worry, your body will get used to it.
In order to hit your daily water target, you’ll need a water bottle. It doesn’t have to be flashy or expensive but something that you can easily carry around everywhere you go.
Everyone on The 90 Day Plan should be drinking more than 2 liters of water each day. These 2.2-liter water bottles make it a little bit easier to guarantee your daily water consumption and help you to track your water allowance.
While it is possible to complete cycle one barefoot (which I really do not recommend), it would definitely not be advisable to carry out the other cycles without suitable footwear.
Adding weights to your squats and lunges may result in knee pain (especially if your form isn’t great). Furthermore, the risk of greater injury would be significantly higher without appropriate footwear.
For this reason, a solid pair of workout trainers are a necessary piece of equipment for The Body Coach 90 Day Plan.
There is a whole range of trainers to choose from nowadays that can help to provide stability and prevent injury. However, whichever type or brand of trainers you choose will be down to personal preference and essentially, which types of exercises you are doing.
Here are some options to choose from:

A fitness mat won’t set you back too much but it will make your workouts more enjoyable. I use this mat when exercising, it’s durable, trainer proof – i.e it won’t shred to pieces when doing burpees, mountain climbers or plank thrusters.
And even more surprisingly it’s also immune to cat claw and bite marks (thanks to my youngest feline buddy for testing this one out). Best of all, it can easily be rolled up and stored away when not in use.
One of the most important pieces of equipment for The Body Coach 90 Day Plan is a good set of weights.
Granted, you won’t need these immediately as weights will be introduced in cycle two. However, using weights will have a positive influence on your body. Building lean muscle not only provides definition to your body but will encourage your body to burn more calories because muscle is more metabolically active.
You don’t have to buy flashy racks with weights up to 150kgs for the plan. It’s more advisable to invest in a set of adjustable weights like the ones here.
I use this same set and they are fantastic. It’s very easy to swap the weights around and combine for a barbell if you’d prefer that for some exercises.
If you’re new to weight training, you can start off on a lower weight to get your body used to lifting and exercising with weights. Then each week slightly increase the weight to ensure you are pushing your body and building more muscle.
The main bonus of adjustable weights is that you can become stronger and lift heavier without needing to buy additional weights more frequently.
Starting The 90 Day Plan might seem a little daunting at first, but if you plan carefully you will see the best results.
Flashy gadgets won’t make you lose weight or build muscle but they can be essential in helping you achieve the best results from The 90 Day Plan.
